During the early 20th century, the noble Pignatelli family enlisted the renowned Neapolitan architect Farinelli to transform the Castelluccio into a grand summer residence. Farinelli's extensive renovations embraced the neo-medieval revival style, which was popular at the time. This transformation included the addition of turrets along the defensive walls and the installation of reproductions of modern paintings. The noble apartment consisted of six rooms, with the largest likely serving as the grand hall, illuminated by two large pointed-arch windows.
